Position Title: School Resource Officer (SRO)
Location: Raymondville R-VII School District
School Year: 2026–2027
Employment Type: Full-Time (through cooperative agreement or contract with a law enforcement agency)
Start Date: August 2026
Position Summary- The Raymondville R-VII School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated School Resource Officer (SRO) for the 2026–2027 school year. The SRO will work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and local law enforcement to provide a safe and supportive learning environment. The SRO serves in a dual role as a law enforcement officer, mentor, and educator while promoting positive relationships within the school community.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain a safe and secure school environment through proactive presence and relationship-building.
Serve as a positive role model and mentor to students.
Respond appropriately to incidents involving safety and law enforcement matters on campus.
Collaborate with school administrators to support student well-being, crisis prevention, and emergency preparedness.
Assist with the development and implementation of school safety plans, drills, and emergency response procedures.
Provide age-appropriate instruction or presentations related to safety, law-related education, and prevention topics.
Support restorative practices and de-escalation strategies when appropriate.
Build positive partnerships with families, staff, and community agencies.
Adhere to district policies, state laws, and the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the District and the Texas County Sheriff Department.
Required Qualifications
Missouri POST-certified law enforcement officer in good standing.
Current employment with, or eligibility for employment by, a local, county, or state law enforcement agency.
Successful completion of background checks required by both the law enforcement agency and the school district.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, and school personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as a School Resource Officer or working with youth.
Completion of SRO-specific or school-based law enforcement training.
Experience in de-escalation, crisis intervention, or restorative practices.
Understanding of school discipline procedures and student confidentiality laws (FERPA).
Work Schedule
School-year schedule aligned with the Raymondville R-VII academic calendar.
Hours coordinated with the school administration.
Compensation
Salary and benefits are determined through the partnering law enforcement agency and/or contractual agreement.

Position Title: Full Route Bus Driver

Position Summary- The Raymondville R-VII School District is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Full Route Bus Driver for the 2026–2027 school year. The bus driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and school-related activities while maintaining a positive and respectful environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Safely operate a school bus along assigned routes and schedules.
Transport students to and from school and approved school activities.
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain order and ensure student safety while on the bus.
Follow district policies, state regulations, and Missouri school bus laws.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, transportation staff, and administrators.
Report mechanical issues, route concerns, or student behavior issues promptly.
Maintain required records, logs, and certifications.
Required Qualifications
Valid Missouri Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements, or willingness to obtain.
Ability to pass required background checks, physical examination, and drug screening.
Good driving record.
Ability to work well with children and maintain a calm, respectful demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior school bus driving experience.
Knowledge of local routes and the community.
Strong communication and time-management skills.
Work Schedule

Morning and afternoon routes; additional trips may be available.
